Walid Breidi is a multidisciplinary artist and composer currently based in Paris. He has been a digital artist for more than 25 years and has created approximately 23 interactive multimedia installations, as well as musical compositions, digital drawings and videos.

Starting in performing arts and staged shows, his work has been shown in theatres and festivals such as the Brooklyn Academy of Arts Next Festival, The Kitchen NYC, Singapore White Night Fetival, the Ker Thiossane Multimedia Institute Dakar, Aarhus IOT International Festival Denmark, The National Theatre of Reykjavik, Musée des Arts et Metiers Paris, Paula Modersohn Becker Museum Bremen, amongsts others.

Next to composing music as well as occasional Video-Jaying gigs, he mainly creates digital and interactive artworks that are transdisciplinary. His transmedial concepts are often supported by and expressed through movement, video and digital technology. States of consciousness, the body, and human gesture have constituted an important focal point in his work. Coding, data, networks are the tools he uses to create his installations and his performances. Since 1995 he has used all kinds of body detection data, including brain waves, for his works.

Throughout his career, Walid  has allied artistic practice and the teaching of digital art in higher education.
